Learning Indaba 2026 Returns Bigger and Bolder, Bringing Global Learning Innovation to South Africa

Johannesburg, 4 February 2026 – New Leaf Technologies will host the Learning Indaba 2026, its flagship learning and development conference designed to equip South African organisations with global insights into the technologies, trends and strategies reshaping workplace learning. The event will take place on Thursday, 12 March 2026, at the prestigious Randpark Golf Club in Randburg, Gauteng, and is expected to attract delegates across the learning, HR, and organisational development sectors.

The Learning Indaba 2026 will explore the future of learning in a world defined by rapid technological change, with a strong focus on AI-powered learning technologies, digital learning strategy, workforce skills development, performance management and human-centred learning design. The programme brings together international and local experts, real client case studies and hands-on workshops aimed at translating innovation into measurable organisational impact.

International guest speakers Eva Spekman and Robbert Ladan from global learning platform aNewSpring will headline the event, unpacking the real return on investment of modern learning technologies and demonstrating how organisations are saving time, improving performance and proving impact through smarter learning design. Award-winning United Kingdom-based eLearning specialist Jonathan Hill will deliver a keynote presentation that uses storytelling theory to show how narrative structure can transform digital learning from functional to unforgettable, drawing inspiration from author Kurt Vonnegut’s famous “Shape of Stories”.

The agenda also includes client-led sessions where organisations share real-world learning challenges and breakthroughs, alongside three dedicated afternoon breakaway tracks. These include an L&D innovation workshop, an advanced Articulate Storyline workshop exploring personalisation, live polling and learner engagement through JavaScript and Google Forms, and an HR Total Solutions workshop. In-person delegates will enjoy a hosted networking lunch and conclude the day at the Learning Indaba Cocktail Party, designed to encourage meaningful peer connection and collaboration.

Paul Hanly, CEO of New Leaf Technologies, said the conference has been deliberately designed to uplift the local learning industry and make it globally competitive. “The Learning Indaba is our way of giving back to the industry,” said Hanly. “By bringing international thought leaders and globally relevant technologies to South Africa through a heavily subsidised event, we’re giving organisations a clear view of what’s driving learning innovation worldwide and how to apply it locally in ways that deliver real, measurable impact.”

Building on the success of previous editions, Learning Indaba 2026 promises a significantly enhanced experience, with a larger, upgraded venue, expanded content and greater choice through parallel sessions. “This year is simply bigger and better,” Hanly added. “More speakers, more depth, more interaction – and more value for every delegate who attends.”

Attendance is available either in person or online. In-person general admission tickets are available at an early-bird price of R1,150, with the offer ending on 16 February. Online attendance is free, providing access to the main conference sessions, but online tickets do not include workshops or networking. All tickets are issued via invoice, and early registration is encouraged to secure availability.

Learning Indaba 2026 will be hosted at Randpark Golf Club, located at Setperk Road, Randpark, Randburg, Gauteng, offering a world-class setting for learning, networking and industry connection.

Early-bird registration is now open, and delegates are encouraged to purchase tickets early to guarantee their place at one of South Africa’s leading learning and development events. For more information, visit www.newleaftech.zohobackstage.com/LearningIndaba2026
