As the demand for skilled and adaptable leaders continues to grow across South Africa, Staff Training is celebrating a significant milestone in its workforce development journey. Over the past 15 years, the company has invested more than R35 million in skills development and training initiatives nationwide, growing from the vision of a single entrepreneur into a fully established national training provider.
At the heart of the business has always been a commitment to making learning relevant, practical and aligned with the realities of the South African workforce. Despite the company’s growth and expansion, its original vision remains unchanged: providing real solutions for real people facing real workplace challenges.
The journey has not been without obstacles. South African businesses continue to navigate economic pressure, workforce diversification, operational and supply chain challenges, all while adapting to ongoing social and political change. Maintaining a focus on developing capable, resilient leaders (while balancing organisational needs with those of the learner) has required unique insight and adaptability. At the same time, the pace of workplace delivery has accelerated dramatically.
Businesses today face increasing macro- and micro-level challenges.
Initiatives that once took years to implement are now expected within months, placing greater pressure on leaders to adapt quickly and effectively.
This is where Staff Training has carved out its niche in leadership development. Having partnered with more than 10,000 learners over the years, the company has continuously evolved its training approach to meet the changing needs of the modern workforce. Since transitioning to fully digital systems in 2008, Staff Training has gathered valuable real-time feedback, tracked learning trends across accredited and non-accredited programmes, and refined its offerings based on the evolving needs of companies and learners across multiple industries.
The combination of firsthand operational experience, together with ongoing feedback from clients and learners, has provided valuable data and insight. This ultimately led to the development of one of the company’s flagship programmes: The Leadership Impact Series.
The Leadership Impact Series was specifically designed to address the realities faced by business owners, organisations undergoing transformation, and companies seeking to strengthen their leadership pipeline. The programme balances operational demands with meaningful opportunities for learners to engage in personal skills development and reflection.
It also caters to the way modern professionals prefer to learn, using an integrated approach that combines in-person training, virtual learning, e-learning, skills checks, group coaching and ongoing reinforcement. This blended learning model creates space for practical implementation, discussion and real-time problem-solving, ensuring delegates remain supported throughout the learning journey.
The facilitation approach addresses many of the current pressures leaders face across industries. From building structured leadership pipelines and strengthening workplace culture, adapting to AI integration, increasing compliance requirements and rapidly changing business environments, leaders at every level are expected to navigate growing complexity with confidence, agility and speed.
Two versions of the Leadership Impact Series were launched in 2026: the Platinum 8-Month Programme and the Silver 6-Month Accelerated Programme. The key difference is that the Silver Accelerated Programme is delivered virtually through a facilitator-led platform, making it accessible to learners regardless of location.
Enrolments for the 2026 Platinum Programme closed in April, while enrolments for the Silver Accelerated Programme remain open until 17 June 2026.
According to Debbie Engelbrecht, Founder and MD of Staff Training:
“We are really excited about our flagship programme because we know firsthand how impactful it is. I am also particularly delighted that our clients increasingly recognise that preparing business leaders cannot rely solely on formal academic training, as it is virtually impossible for those programmes to keep pace with the rate of change required. It is the love of learning and the development of critical thinking that will take our country into the future, hopefully as a force to be reckoned with.”
